• Advisor Eric Loh

  Advisor Eric Loh is the founder of Shu Astro Pte Ltd.

  When he was a child, Eric took keen interest in Chinese ancient culture, especially that of Chinese Metaphysics. This interest developed into a hobby and subsequently a lifestyle.

  Eric started reading up on Chinese Metaphysics and subsequently did his own research in this with an emphasis on Chinese Astrology (Zi Wei Dou Shu).

  Eric’s strong interest and commitment led him to seek out some of the most revered masters in the world. He had travelled to China and Taiwan to learn “Zi Wei Duo Shu”, Fengshui and other Chinese Metaphysics studies from various Masters.

  After gaining a strong grounding and extensive knowledge in Chinese Astrology, he started directing more attention into other areas in Chinese metaphysics and derived many theories and methods which were previously undisclosed in the society.

  However, Eric never claimed to have invented these theories but instead liken himself as an explorer who had found new places, which were hidden from the masses. Thus, what he did was just unlocking the secrets which were hinted or written between the lines of ancient treatises passed down from the forefathers of Chinese Metaphysics.

  Born with a sharp intuition, Eric engages this natural ability frequently. After years of honing, he had incorporated this deep sensitivity to energies in our living world into the ancient art of “Zi Wei Duo Shu” and Chinese Astrology. This is also a reason why his achievements in research and readings using these channels always yield exceptional results.

  However, he firmly believed that “Learning is an endless journey”. To date, Eric still visits and maintained regular contact with his Masters. He believed that it is only through consistent efforts in learning and exploring that he can always offer the best advice to those who have placed their trust in him.

• Co Founder Betty Goh

  Betty Goh is the Co founder of Shu Astro Pte Ltd.

  It started off as a small interest, wanting to understand more Chinese astrology. This small interest started to build up and slowly become a subject that Betty would come to understand and take a strong interest in.

  Although not a practicing master herself, she seeks to understand and uncover this ancient art of chinese astrology. Through reading text from other masters, she slowly come to understand this art. Although she is not gifting in foretelling nor have a sensing intuition, but yet she seeks for a way to make it possible for layman to enjoy this art

  Thus when Eric presented the opportunity for a working relationship, Betty did not hesitate and agreed on working together. By creating application, which makes it accessible and easy to understand. By having an advisor on hand, allows other enthusiasts to have access and be able to consult on matters regarding Chinese astrology.

• History "Zi Wei Dou Shu"

  The origin of “Zi Wei Dou Shu” is an ancient art of Chinese astrology, which was devised by a Taoist priest named Lu Chun Yang (呂純陽). Further developed by Chen Xi Yi (陳希夷) during the Song Dynasty and Luo Hong Xian (羅洪先) during the Ming Dynasty.

  Chinese Astrology has always been closely intertwined with Astronomy. During the ancient times, gifted astronomer/astrologers were recruited as officials to work in Imperial Courts to delineate astrological charts were for the Emperor. This was considered an important job as the Emperor’s personal fate as it has a direct bearing on that of his kingdom. As such, the court astrologers played an important role in determining the successor to the throne too.

  Astrologers observed the stars and noticed that among the stars; only one was seemingly stationary while the rest revolved around it. As it was also the brightest, this star was named the "Emperor Star" - the celestial equivalent of the Emperor.

  Thus the birth of “Zi Wei Dou Shu” which is an ancient Chinese astrology used to foresee the future and used to be only practiced for the benefit of the Royal family.

  How does it work?

  “Zi Wei Dou Shu” is rather complex. While it is easy to draft a birth chart, the difficulty is in the deciphering of the meaning behind the interactions of the various stars so that we will ‘see’ the blueprint of our lives.

  “Zi Wei Dou Shu” is a system that engaged over 100 "stars" in representing the life and events of a person. The “Zi Wei” birth chart is plotted using the birth date, time and gender of an individual.

  The “Zi Wei” birth chart only displays the "nature" and "time" of the possible events. The astrologist, with his/her experience and logical analysis, is then able to determine what would happen. This is analyzed with reference to the different backgrounds, social communities and environments an individual is born/resides in. Therefore, although people might share the same chart, they might only have the same predisposition in their character and similar life trend while the actual life events may be very different.

  The “Zi Wei” birth chart shows Shí Èr Gōng (十二宫) literally translated as the 12 Palace (herein translated as “Sectors” in its practical sense to grant a clearer picture). These are arranged in anti-clockwise direction in the following fixed sequence.

  Personal Sector (命宫), Siblings Sector (兄弟宫), Marriage Sector (夫妻宫), Children Sector (子女宫), Wealth Sector (财昂宫), Health Sector (疾厄宫), Travel Sector (迁移宫), Friends, Servants Sector (仆役宫), Career Sector (官禄宫), Property Sector (田宅宫), Fortune, Virtue Sector (福德宫), Parents Sector (父母宫)

  In addition, there is a 13th Palace called (身宫 Shēn Gōng) or literally, Body Palace. It is as important as any of the other 12 Palaces in interpreting one's life events. The word or Gōng (宫) originated from the concept of a house, temple or space where spirits or souls resides. "Space" does not exist outside "time", so each Palace can relate to the time span of events happening in the particular Gōng.

  As mentioned earlier, the essence of “Zi Wei Dou Shu” lies in the interpretation, and not in the plotting of a The “Zi Wei” birth chart.
